OUR COMMITMENT
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Community Living Toronto (CLTO) is committed to building a culture where equity and inclusion are embedded in everything we do, and diversity is embraced as a source of strength, learning, and pride. We strive to create an environment where all people feel respected, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.
This year, our work focused on strengthening connection, trust, and engagement across the organization while building a strong foundation for long-term, systemic change. A key milestone was the launch of our Equity Census, which achieved a 94% participation rate and is helping us better understand and address gaps across our organization.
We expanded opportunities for learning and connection, growing from 2 events in 2024 to 10 events this year, with 485 participants including staff, people we support, and community members. These initiatives created meaningful spaces to celebrate diversity and foster inclusion.
We also strengthened our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), employee led groups where staff connect, share experiences, and help make our workplace more inclusive. This included welcoming new groups such as the Women’s Inclusion Network and the Black Brilliance Network and continued the work of the Committee for Inclusive Change, which brings together employees from across CLTO to advance strategic Anti Racism Equity Diversity and Inclusion priorities and support more inclusive practices.
As an employer of choice, CLTO remains committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce, building strong partnerships, and fostering a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. Looking ahead, we will continue this momentum through new initiatives including an AREDI Leadership Program, an Indigenous Advisory Circle to guide our ReconciliACTION efforts, and tools to ensure equity is embedded in policies and decision making.
Together, these efforts help us move from awareness to action, strengthening our organization, and improving outcomes for the people we support, staff, and our community.
