Feature Highlight

Joshua has experienced times of crisis throughout his life following a long battle with substance use, something he continues to manage today. With the support of our staff team and community partners, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and LAMP Community Health Centre, Joshua has been able to move out of crisis and build a more stable life. He receives ongoing support, including monthly treatment, and works closely with staff who provide one-on-one guidance, tools, and encouragement to strengthen his recovery.

Joshua has always had an interest in hospitality and pursued that passion by studying Hospitality Services at Centennial College, graduating in 2011. Through our Employment Supports program, he was able to build on this training and gain work experience at Swiss Chalet.

Today, Joshua finds pride in his progress and comfort in his routines. He enjoys reading, cooking, baking, watching movies, attending camp at Shadow Lake Centre, and building LEGO™ sets, a hobby that has grown into a collection of more than 60 sets. Through Passport funding and Community Participation Supports, he is also able to attend live events and visit local attractions.

Our team is committed to providing specialized supports and connecting people with the right mix of community resources so they can live their best lives. Sometimes, it truly takes a village to help someone thrive.
